Our goal is to treat the whole person and not just the disease. We look at how MS affects the patient’s life, including its impact on families. We help individuals to become advocates for themselves and to learn to communicate their interests, desires and needs.
We are skilled at early intervention, providing comprehensive care, helping clients manage their symptoms and optimize wellness. We also work hard to help our clients retain their independence and community relationships.
We believe this is the best way to help people learn how to manage their MS without letting it overwhelm them.
Injection Medications
Many MS drugs are now available to patients as self-injectables. We show our patients how to administer these drugs with a minimum of discomfort and risk of infection.
Drugs that must be given under careful supervision, such as Tysabri, can be administered at the Infusion Center, located within Oak Clinic.
Health & Life Maintenance Skills
Because multiple sclerosis is such a complicated and unpredictable disease, one of the primary services we offer is health promotion and education.
We help our patients understand MS in ways that make sense to them.
We show how a combination of good medicine, sound knowledge, and a healthy lifestyle can help patients manage this disease and not let it manage them.
We teach our patients the new skills they may need to manage their MS better.
We promote proper exercise and energy conservation techniques. We help caregivers understand the unique needs of MS patients.
We offer suggestions on how to modify different home environments, alter diets, and manage time.
We can also help employers and employees understand and accommodate ADA-related compliance issues.

Specialized Education & Counseling
We provide state-of-the-art medical and psychological care for our patients and their families.
We understand psychological services are often difficult to talk about; yet for that very reason, we encourage clients and families to find ways to talk about how MS affects their mental as well as their physical health.
Community Services
MS patients throughout Northeast Ohio are fortunate to have available to them a wide array of community services. We help match our clients’ needs to these services. Among them are driver training courses, access to home remodeling services and grants, and assistance with psychological services.
We can also help clients access medical equipment ranging from walkers to motorized scooters.
Social Services
We help our patients access the broad array of services available to them from the county and state.
For example, as a result of our formal affiliation with the National MS Society, we are able to coordinate with the Ohio Chapter and have a social worker available during office hours and to make home visits.
